Elizabeth Buchanan

Elizabeth Buchanan is a research fellow at the Centre for European Studies at the Australian National University working on Russia. She has completed her PhD on Russian Arctic Strategy under Vladimir Putin and holds an Honours degree with a thesis on Ukrainian-Russian natural gas relations. She was a Guest Scholar with The Brookings Institution, Washington DC, and holds a Visiting Fellowship with the Institute of the North, Alaska. Elizabeth was recently the Visiting Maritime Fellow at the NATO Defense College, Rome. She has published widely with Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, The Moscow Times, and the Australian Institute of International Affairs.
